This message has to do with your wonderful catalog, Sundance, and why I will never buy anything from Sundance again*. This makes me sad, because I love Sundance!
Even though I can't afford anything from your catalog, I love to look
at all the wonderful things displayed on it's tasteful, well-designed
pages. Particularly the jewelry. I often tell my male friends that
they can never go wrong if they buy that special lady in their life
something, anything, from your catalog. Sadly, I can do this no
longer*. I own only one thing from your catalog- my beautiful,
beloved, favorite "Frida Kahlo" earrings. This is a story of those
earrings, a terrible loss, and my disenfranchisement with your superb
mail-order catalog. My heartbreaking tale began a year and a half
ago...
My story began when I got back from South America in May of 2006. I was gone for three and a half months, and my boyfriend (now husband) had a wonderful surprise waiting for me when we got back from the airport. He had prepared my favorite dinner: broccoli and spinach with lots of garlic, had a yummy bottle of red wine open and waiting, and best of all, there was a small wrapped box waiting for me to open...
I loved them at first site. I would have loved them even if they hadn't been called the "Frida Kahlo" earrings, but the name of my hero added to the appeal of those earrings. As one of my former students, a nine year old boy who chose the Spanish name "Albondigo" once noted, "Your earrings look like they play music!" Indeed, they do- they tinkle, they twinkle, they draw the eye with their exquisite design... they are truly wonderful earrings! My favorite earrings, by the way...
